Where Staysi uses AI

• Guest Assistant: understand a question, retrieve relevant host-provided knowledge, clarify ambiguity, offer bounded troubleshooting, and structure/escalate requests.
• Host assistance: draft or polish responses and summarize guest context for host action.
• Reservation and guide extraction: turn host-supplied or forwarded content into structured Staysi records.
• Support assistance: help Staysi answer host support questions using relevant account context and approved support knowledge.
• Property photo enhancement: process a host-selected photo when the host asks Staysi to improve it.

Data that may be sent to an AI provider

The minimum context reasonably needed for the task may include a guest question, host-provided property knowledge, recent conversation turns, reservation-email content being extracted, a host support message and limited account context, or a property photo selected for enhancement. Staysi should not send unrelated account data merely because it is available.

OpenAI processing

Staysi uses OpenAI business/API services for supported AI workflows. Requests are configured with store: false where supported. OpenAI states that business/API data is not used to train its models by default. Provider security or abuse-monitoring retention can still apply unless Staysi has an applicable Zero Data Retention configuration; store: false should not be interpreted as a promise of Zero Data Retention.

Human control and safety

AI output is constrained by Staysi workflows and host-provided knowledge, but it can still be wrong. Staysi does not use the guest assistant as an emergency dispatcher or as an autonomous system for high-impact legal, employment, credit, insurance, or health decisions. Matters needing host judgment or physical action are routed to the host.

Guests are told when they are interacting with an AI-assisted Staysi Assistant and are directed to emergency services and their host for urgent danger.

Choices and questions

Guests who do not want to use the Staysi Assistant may contact their host through another available channel. Hosts can choose whether to use optional drafting, extraction, or photo-enhancement features where optional. Privacy questions can be raised through Host Support/Privacy & data or, for guests, through the host.
